We have a trip planned to Mesa Verde in a few weeks and unfortunately, hubs is having some health issues that might or might not be better by then. If he can only walk short distances (under a mile) and probably not climb ladders, will we still be able to get a good look at the park?

Yes. You can get a real appreciation for the wonders of the park with very little difficult walking.
