Air India, which operates the country’s largest fleet of Boeing 787-8 Dreamliners, is under review by the Ministry of Civil Aviation after the Ahmedabad air disaster.

The Union government is considering grounding the Boeing Dreamliner 787-8 fleet, sources said, a day after one of the aircraft supplied to Air India crashed seconds after taking off from Ahmedabad airport.

The Ministry of Civil Aviation is reportedly considering a safety review of domestic fleet of Boeing 787-8 Dreamliners after an Air India aircraft crashed near Ahmedabad airport on Thursday (12 June), killing 241 out of 242 people on board. The tragic accident marks the world’s deadliest air disaster in ten years.
