A Minnesota man pleaded guilty on ⁠Thursday ⁠to federal charges that he ⁠killed Minnesota's House speaker and her husband nearly a year ​ago and also attempted to murder a state senator and his wife,

A person was shot and killed by Phoenix police on June 11, marking at least the ninth police shooting by department officers in 2026.

Prosecutors recommended that he be sentenced to life in prison, and they agreed not to seek the death penalty.
