The bill states that starting with the 2026-27 school year, eligible students would receive a certain annual deposit based on federal poverty guidelines.

The education bill is now heading to the Senate after the House gave approval on Thursday. If a deal is reached, though, the bill will become public, and lawmakers will debate it in each chamber before a vote.
